The Utah Pride Center is a non-profit organization in the state of Utah that serves the needs of the LGBTQ population. The library at the Center is a collection of LGBT material covering a broad rang of topics. Housing over 3,000 paper items, the lending library is operated on a donation basis, and is a unique repository/community library on LGBT history, culture, humor, education, and fiction. The queer collection is designed to be a resource for those who may not have access in other libraries, or who may not feel they can check out materials in the public setting. The materials are checked out on the honor system and a first name basis, allowing for anyone to provide their chosen name/identities and to feel free to study and read topics of their interests free of shame and stigma.
