Logan Library Assistant Director & Adult Nonfiction Librarian
πŸ“ Shoshone land / northern Utah, US β›°
I'm a humanist librarian and I support people-centred libraries: free (priceless and liberated) information and literacy, life-long education, communication and dialogue, kindness, community, historical perspective and progressive thinking, democracy, diversity, honesty and transparency and accountability, privacy, and concern for the environment. My professional specialities include maintaining adult non-fiction collections (the Dewey hundreds, reference, local history, and educational video), customer service, research, working with Friends groups, and defending intellectual freedom. I'm an active member of the Utah Library Association and the Cache Valley Library Association, which I helped establish a decade ago.

A confirmed Anglomaniac, I enjoy reading medieval English history, The Guardian, and random articles from Wikipedia's England portal, watching Sky News, Mr. Bean, and adaptations of Brit lit, listening to the sounds of Ralph Vaughan Williams, Britpop, and post-Britpop, cheering Dorchester Town FC and the Three Lions, observing Westminster politics, and driving a Mini Cooper. I'm happily married to Amy, an exceptional counsellor at Logan High School (linkedin.com/in/amy-anderson-61a27780), and together we have five wonderful children who attend primary school through to university.
